Election Results Certified!

 

             

                                                 Antonio S. Samson, SJ                           Roberto S. Yap, SJ

 

Fr. Antonio S. Samson , SJ, current Chairman of the PERAA Board of Trustees was re-elected as Trustee from Visayas while Fr. Roberto C. Yap, SJ was elected as Trustee-at-Large by majority vote of Participating Institutions in elections held during the early part of the fiscal year. This was certified by Atty. Joseph Jason Natividad, Board Secretary.

Fr. Samson is the Chairman of Ateneo de Iloilo, Iloilo City. He has served PERAA as trustee for 15 years, initially as elected Trustee from Mindanao in 1997 when he was president of Ateneo de Davao University and as appointed Trustee from Visayas to finish Atty. David Tirol’s term in 2011. As elected Trustee from Visayas, he will have a four year term ending April 2016. He was elected chairman by the Board of Trustees when Dr. Armand V. Fabella passed away in 2008. Fr. Samson is a holder of a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Brandeis University, USA. He finished his AB – Chemistry, cum laude, class valedictorian from Ateneo de Manila University. He was ordained priest in 1973.

Fr. Yap, elected Trustee-at-Large, is the president of Xavier University (Ateneo de Cagayan) and treasurer of the Jesuit Philippine Province. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from University College London, UK, Master in Public Policy, Harvard University, USA and MA in Economics from New School for Social Research, NY, USA. He finished his AB Economics with honors from Ateneo de Manila University. As elected Trustee-at-Large, Fr. Yap will sit in the PERAA Board until April 2016.
