Two Trustees Re-elected
MAJORITY of PERAA Participating Institutions re-elected Dr. Reynaldo C. Bautista and Dr. Vicente K. Fabella as Trustee-at-large and Trustee from NCR in elections held last May 2014. Both gentlemen’s terms ended last April 30, 2014. They will serve in the PERAA Board for another four years ending April 30, 2018.
Dr. Bautista, Chairman Emeritus of University of Baguio (UB) was elected to the PERAA Board as Trustee-at-large in 1990 and has served the Board for a full six terms. He is a holder of BS in Natural Sciences degree from Ateneo de Manila University. He took up Master of Arts in Education at the University of the Philippines as part of his preparation for the presidency of the family-owned UB. He proceeded to earn his Doctorate at Centro Escolar University when he was called to serve as the third university president in 1980. Dr. Bautista was granted an honorary doctorate degree, Honoris Causa, by the China Academy of Taiwan. He is also current Chairman and President of Rural Bank of Itogon, Benguet.
Meanwhile, Dr. Fabella, President of Jose Rizal University was appointed to the PERAA Board in 2003 as a Representative from PACU. He was third and last representative succeeding Atty. Jose D. Baltazar, who represented PACU for 11 years and Dr. Armand Fabella for 20 years. In 2010, after the ratification of the Board composition changing the Association Representatives to Regional Trustees, Dr. Fabella was the first elected Trustee for NCR. He is a holder of a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, QC, two Master’s degree in Business Administration and Public Administration from the Columbia Business School, N.Y., U.S.A. & Columbia School of International and Public Affairs, N.Y., U.S.A, respectively. Dr. Fabella is concurrent Treasurer of PERAA.
