How to apply for institutional membership

  1. Inform PERAA in writing through the Member Services & Information Department of your intention to enlist your school as PERAA Participating Institution and of your capability to make your retirement plan a continuing one.

A Letter of Intent (LOI) should be signed by the highest officer. A document attesting to the registered name of the institution should also be attached. (Sample Letter of Intent)

  2. Accomplish and submit to PERAA the application forms (available upon receipt of Letter of Intent) for membership as follows:

Trust Agreement - This is the contract between the school and PERAA where the school indicates its consent with the management of the fund by the PERAA Board as policymakers.

    Retirement Plan Resolution
    - This contains the basic provisions of the PERAA Plan Agreement and specifies the provisions adopted by the Participating Institutions.

Vesting Policy - This is the school policy on the treatment of employer's share upon employee's resignation and Repurchase claim.

PERAA Form 1 - This contains specific data of the employees and the institutions.

Cover Letter to the BIR - This is the cover letter transmitting the retirement plan documents and the certification of an independent consulting actuary submitted by PERAA to the BIR for your availment of the tax exemption privileges.

Authorized Signatories Form - This is the list with specimen signatures of personnel authorized to transact business with PERAA. PERAA will only entertain transactions made by the persons listed in the form.

PERAA Member's Record - This is PERAA's permanent record of each covered member-employee. The ID Card will be issued only after submission of properly accomplished MR and upon payment of first premium contribution.

  3. If, upon evaluation, your application for membership is accepted, you'll be given guidelines for the computation of your initial premiums based on your adopted provisions.

  4. Upon payment of initial premiums (including the one-time Actuarial & BIR fees), and satisfaction of all requirements, your school is issued a Certificate of Membership. (The name of your school as participating institution will be submitted to the PERAA Board of Trustees for confirmation of your membership.)
